Terms of Service

Last updated August 19, 2026

These terms cover both Baseline (the free app) and Folio (the coaching practice tool). Using either one means you agree to what's below. Read the medical disclaimer in particular — it matters more than the usual boilerplate around it.

What this is

Baseline builds a personalized training and nutrition plan from information you provide, and adjusts it over time based on your check-ins. It's free to use.

Folio is a practice-management tool coaches use to run their own client roster, plans, and business records on top of the same engine. Folio does not process any payments between you and your own clients — whatever billing arrangement you have with the people you coach happens entirely outside the app. Folio itself is a paid subscription, billed directly to you; see "Folio subscription & billing" below for how that works.

Not medical advice

Read this part

Baseline and Folio generate general training and nutrition information, in part using an AI model, based on what you tell them. That is not the same thing as individualized medical, nutritional, or physical therapy advice from a licensed professional who has examined you. Talk to a doctor before starting a new exercise or nutrition program, especially if you have an injury, a medical condition, or are pregnant. If something in your plan doesn't feel right for your body, stop and use your own judgment — the app can't see you, a doctor or physical therapist can.

AI-generated content can be wrong

Parts of your plan, check-in responses, and food-photo estimates are generated by an AI model reading the information you've given it. It's usually good, and it's built to be conservative rather than reckless — but it can still misread a photo, miscalculate a portion, or write something that doesn't actually fit your situation. Treat it as a well-informed first draft, not a guarantee.

Your account

Sign-in is passwordless — a one-time link sent to your email. Keep access to that inbox secure; anyone who can read your email can sign in as you. One account per email address.

Text messages

If you're a client of a coach using Folio, your coach may text you a one-time link to set up your account — that message always says how to opt out. Ongoing texts (plan updates, session reminders, check-in follow-ups, and the ability to reply directly) only start once you've confirmed you want them, by checking the consent box when you set up your account. You can withdraw that consent at any time by replying STOP. Message frequency varies depending on your coach. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help. Carriers aren't liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Using it reasonably

If you're a coach (Folio)

Everything you enter about your own clients — their contact details, health information, session history, notes — is your responsibility to handle appropriately. That means getting whatever consent your own clients expect from you before you put their information into Folio, and following whatever rules apply to you as a fitness professional in your own jurisdiction. Folio is the tool; how you run your practice with your clients is between you and them.

If you opt into the public coach directory, you're agreeing to be discoverable by people you haven't met yet, and to follow up with anyone who reaches out to you through it in good faith.

Folio subscription & billing

New Folio accounts get 14 days free from the day you sign up — full access, no card required to start. After that, continuing to use Folio requires a paid subscription at $99.99/month. Accounts created before this pricing took effect keep working under whatever terms they already had; this section applies going forward.

Payment is processed by Stripe, not by us directly — we never see or store your card number. Your subscription renews automatically each month at the then-current price until you cancel. You can cancel any time from Folio's billing page, which opens Stripe's own account-management screen; canceling stops future renewals but doesn't refund the period already paid for. If a payment fails, we'll keep your account active for a short window while it's retried before access is paused — nothing about your client data is deleted for a lapsed payment.

What we're not promising

Baseline and Folio are provided as-is. We work to keep things running and accurate, but we don't guarantee the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times. We're not liable for outcomes from following a generated plan, decisions made based on an AI-generated insight, or data loss, to the fullest extent the law allows.

Ending your account

You can stop using either product at any time. We may suspend or end an account that violates these terms, particularly around the acceptable-use section above.

Changes to these terms

If these change in a way that matters, we'll update the date at the top and, for anything significant, let you know directly rather than letting it sit as a quiet edit.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [state to be finalized], without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

These terms describe the product as it exists today and will be reviewed by counsel ahead of a broader public launch, including the governing-law jurisdiction above and the auto-renewal subscription terms above — several states have their own specific disclosure requirements for recurring charges that this section hasn't been checked against yet.
